Stakin Visited The DevConnect Amsterdam Event

From the 18th until the 23rd of April 2022, the DevConnect took place in Amsterdam. The Stakin team went out to meet with some delegators, and networks on which we validate, get insights on the newest updates in the space, learn some fascinating things at the Stakehouse event and  of course, meet countless new people! We’d like to once again thank all of those who hosted us for their invitation, we had a blast and hope to see you all again soon!

Stakin Taking Steps Towards a Greener Future For Proof-of-Stake with Regen Network

Stakin is delighted to announce our collaboration with Regen Network to take active steps toward a greener future for the Proof-of-Stake ecosystem. The long-term viability of the blockchain space has been the subject of much debate and concern recently. The Stakin team has always been concerned with the long-term viability of the blockchain ecosystem. Because of these concerns, our team members supported Proof-of-Stake in its early iterations, particularly because of the efficiency gains it provides. Because validators do not compete for computing power, Proof-of-Stake ecosystems consume less energy than Proof-of-Work blockchains. Although Stakin already supports more sustainable networks, the team wishes to go above and beyond by reducing the company's carbon footprint. Stakin has estimated its costs thanks to Regen's team and products and will offset its yearly carbon footprint and thus take our first steps towards becoming a carbon-neutral organization.

Stakin announces ICON Lossless Lottery DApp will be discontinued, to focus on ICON Network and other PoS network’s node operations.

Akash Network Mainnet 3 Upgrade

On the 28th of April, Akash Network successfully upgraded to Mainnet 3. The upgrade adds enterprise-grade features such as persistent storage, which are required for running all high-resource workloads. This gives developers more flexibility when running real-world applications, such as deploying validators and nodes and expanding mining applications. Evmos Relaunch

In other great news, the Evmos Mainnet relaunched on the 27th of April, which you can track here. Stakin is delighted to be a part of the Genesis Mainnet validator set.  Evmos is an application-agnostic chain that will be interoperable with the Ethereum Mainnet, EVM-compatible environments, and other Cosmos ecosystem networks via IBC, allowing users and developers to smoothly communicate between chains.

NEAR Introduces $USN

The launch of Decentral Bank's first semi-algorithmic stable coin, $USN, is announced. $USN is a NEAR-native stable coin that is soft-pegged to the US Dollar and is backed by a Reserve Fund that initially includes $NEAR and $USDT. The fundamental stability mechanisms of $USN are on-chain arbitrage and a self-balancing Reserve Fund based on the Currency Board Principle. Combining the growth potential of $UST and the strong peg defense of $FRAX, $USN is positioned to be one of the most effective ways to bootstrap liquidity in the NEAR ecosystem, all while adding a new layer to the utility of $NEAR as a token.

Juno Unity Proposal

In other news, after a tumultuous few weeks for the Juno community, the Unity Proposal vote started on the 24th of April. Unity, essentially suggests that the delegated and available $JUNO on CCN’s (the Juno whale’s) address will be transferred to the Unity smart contract, which will be under governance control, meaning that governance can vote on proposals regarding the Unity smart contract funds and these funds are no longer under the control of the unintended stake drop recipient, CCN.

Juno $RAW Airdrop

Finally, the Juno community keeps busy as on the 1st of March, the $RAW Airdrop is scheduled. Raw DAO is a Decentralized Autonomous Organization governing the JunoSwap AMM. $RAW is the token for Raw DAO supporting Junoswap with the following utilities: governance token for the DAO, reward token for liquidity providers, vote on which pools get incentivized, and staking rewards via the DAO.
